Algonquin Round Table Walking Tours

The Algonquin Round Table comes alive in the only New York walking tour devoted to the famed literary group. The 2-hour walk celebrates Dorothy Parker, Robert Benchley, George S Kaufman, Harpo Marx, Edna Ferber, Franklin P. Adams, Heywood Broun, Harold Ross, Robert Sherwood, Marc Connelly and the rest of the Vicious Circle.

The tour is open to the public; it begins and ends at the landmark Algonquin Hotel, 59 West 44th Street. The tour encompasses the Theatre District, Rockefeller Center, Times Square and Hell's Kitchen. There are more than 40 destinations on the tour; among them are the former speakeasies, theaters, offices, homes and hangouts of the Vicious Circle. Immediately following the walking tour guests have the option of having lunch at the Round Table (cost of lunch separate).
The walks are led by Kevin C. Fitzpatrick, author of A Journey into Dorothy Parker's New York (Roaring Forties Press). All walking tours are approximately two hours in length; the tour begins at Noon in the lobby of the Algonquin and ends in the Round Table room. It is recommended walkers wear comfortable shoes as the walk encompasses approximately 30 blocks.
Private tours are also available. Please contact Kevin Fitzpatrick directly to arrange a private walk for groups of two to thirty via email: contact Kevin or call 212-222-7239. Advance notice required. Private walks require a minimum of 2 people: 2-4 people ($35 ea); 5-9 ($30 ea); 10-30 ($25 ea).
Public walk tickets are $20 each. Children 12 and under are free. Walks are held rain or shine. Meet in the Algonquin Hotel lobby, 11:45 AM. All tours begin on time. Partipants can pay cash or credit cards at the walk, or buy in advance below via TicketWeb.

The Algonquin Hotel is closed for renovations until May 2012. Walking tours will resume then.
